Information You Provide to African Diaspora Doctors

You may choose to provide us with information to receive certain Services. Personal information includes your name, date of birth, and demographic information (age, gender, etc.), physical address, work address, email address, telephone number, your location. Personal information may also include personally identifiable health or medical information including but not limited to (a) information or records relating to your medical or health history, health status and laboratory testing results, and diagnostic images; (b) information or documents prepared by the healthcare providers who provide Services through the Site (including treatment and examination notes); (c) billing information that you provide us, such as credit card or bank account information; and (d) other health-related information and information otherwise submitted by you.

User Interactions.

You may provide personal information through communications or chats with other users on the Site. You understand that other users may contact you through direct messages and comments on the Site. Any messages that you send to other users through the Site may not be private or confidential if either you or the recipient of the message discloses it to another person or chooses to publicly post it. African Diaspora Doctors may monitor these messages and not deliver any messages that African Diaspora Doctors, in its sole discretion, believes to be offensive, spam, fraudulent or otherwise violates the African Diaspora Doctors Terms of Service or Code of Conduct.


Interactive Features.

You also provide African Diaspora Doctors with your information when you use certain features on the Site, such as submitting questions, answers, comments, reviews and other postings on the Site (“User Contributions”). You understand that your User Contributions are published or displayed on public areas of the Site, or transmitted to other users of the Site or third parties. Your username (not your email address) is displayed to other users when you post User Contributions to the Site. If you use your first or last name as part of your username or your username is discoverable on the internet, then you are making this personal information publicly available and understand that other users may view this personal information and may be able to identify you from this personal information. Diaspora Doctors cannot control the actions of other users of the Site with respect to your User Contributions.


Cookie Policy

We use cookies to collect, store and sometimes track information for statistical purposes to improve the services we provide. If you are a registered user for any African Diaspora Doctors service, we will use a cookie to save your settings and to provide customizable and personalized services and information collected will be associated with your African Diaspora Doctors account. If you do not want information to be collected through the use of cookies, your browser and/or device may allow you to disable and/or control the use of cookies. We do not control the use of any cookies that are deposited on your computer when you visit third-party websites, and we expressly disclaim responsibility for information collected through them. We permit you to control the cookies collected via the "Cookie Preferences" located at the bottom of the applicable webpage or applicable website.


Business Transfer

In the event African Diaspora Doctors goes through a business transition or a transfer, such as a sale  or merger with a third party entity, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign the information we have collected from you as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors rights generally, we may not be able to control how your information is treated, transferred, or used.

Security

Although we will have reasonable security safeguards with respect to the Services, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted to us over the internet or other electronic means (such as text messages) and we accept no liability for any unintentional disclosure.


Third-Party Services

Our Services contain information about third-party services, and hyperlinks and pointers to Internet sites maintained by third parties and uses some services by third parties. We do not control, operate or endorse in any respect information, products or services provided by such third parties. Many third parties have their own privacy policies that differ from ours. This privacy policy only covers our Services and does not cover any other third parties. We do not control the policies of third parties.


Single Sign-On

You may elect to login to the Diaspora Doctors Service via a third-party authentication service. This is called Single Sign-On (SSO) and means that You must first authenticate to that third-party identity provider prior to accessing the Service. Facebook and Google identity connectors are built into the Service for You to optionally use.

By using SSO, You will be transferred to an authentication agent for that particular identity provider where Your login credentials (usually a name and password) are used to verify Your identity. African Diaspora Doctors does not have access to credentials used by a third-party identity provider. Once You have authenticated via SSO, a token is returned to Us ndicating that Your identity has been verified and You will be granted access to the Service.


Screenshare

The African Diaspora Doctors service provides a feature whereby you may share all or part of your computer screen with the patient or you may request to view the Patient’s screen. It is up to you to ensure that no sensitive or confidential information (other than that which the patient is allowed to see) is viewable during the screensharing session. Conversely, it is up to the patient to ensure that there is no sensitive or confidential information on their screen prior to agreeing to the screenshare.


Protected Health Information (PHI)

Although the African Diaspora Doctors Service is targeted to the healthcare community, no PHI is collected during the video conference between patient and provider. Any health or other sensitive information you discuss or share with your patient is encrypted over a secure channel using the SSL Internet protocol. Diaspora Doctors will not, and is not, able to view the audio-video component of the Session.


File Transfer

If You choose to send a file to the patient, that file will be automatically deleted from Our server 15 minutes after the transfer completes. Conversely, if a patient sends you a file, it will be automatically deleted 15 minutes after the transfer completes.


Children's Privacy

African Diaspora Doctors protects the privacy of children. African Diaspora Doctors does not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from persons under 18 years of age, and no part of the Site is directed to persons under 18. If you are under 18 years of age, then please do not use or access the Site at any time or in any manner. If African Diaspora Doctors learns that personal information of persons under 18 years of age has been collected without verified parental consent, then African Diaspora Doctors will take the appropriate steps to delete this information.


International Visitors

African Diaspora Doctors is hosted in the United States. International visitors or anyone accessing the Site from out of the United States be advised that the information you provide African Diaspora Doctors may be transferred to, processed and stored in the United States where the African Diaspora Doctors servers are located and our central database is operated. You acknowledge and understand that the data protection and other laws of the United States might not be as comprehensive as those in your country. Through your continued use of the Site (which is governed by U.S. law, this privacy policy, and our Terms of Service), you consent to the transfer of your personal information to the United States.


Payment & Pricing Terms

Patient are responsible for payment of service provided. African Diaspora Doctors does not bill third parties such as insurance companies. If you purchase services through the African Diaspora Doctors Site, the payment information is transmitted directly via an encrypted connection to our third-party payment processors. African Diaspora Doctors uses Stripe to process payments. Stripe stores your personal and payment information in accordance with their respective privacy policies. African Diaspora Doctors does not collect or store your payment information. You can learn more about Stripe’s privacy practices by reviewing Stripe’s privacy policy at stripe.com/us/privacy.


African Diaspora Doctors collects your name, email address and telephone number in order to process your payment and this information is stored by African Diaspora Doctors in accordance with this privacy policy.


Pricing Policy


Telemedicine consultation fee (appointment booking cost/amount) is determined independently by the individual healthcare provider or doctor registered one the African Diaspora Doctors platform. Providers can change or update their consultation fee without any prior notice.


All consultation fees will be clearly displayed beside the healthcare provider or doctors’ profiles in dollar currency and may also vary with regard to the registered Provider.


The Patient will be charged the exact fee as per the appointment booking amount listed by the selected provider. There are no hidden or additional costs.


Refund & Cancellation Policy

At African Diaspora Doctors, our focus is on complete client satisfaction. In case of cancellation of appointments due to unavoidable reasons, we follow a refund and cancellation policy for the booking amount, with the following terms and conditions:

  • No cancellation or refunds are permitted once a scheduled appointment on audio/video call has been initiated.
  • In case of cancellation of appointment by a Provider or Doctor due to unforeseen emergencies, a full 100% refund will be provided to the patient.
  • In case of cancellation of appointment by a Patient24 hours prior to a scheduled appointment, a full 100% refund will be provided.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

If we decide to make changes to our Privacy Policy, that may affect our user information already stored in our database, we will post the revised privacy policy on African Diaspora Doctors and alert you of the change by email. Revised and changes to this privacy policy are deemed effective when they are posted on this privacy policy page, and your continued use of the Site after we make changes reflects your acceptance acceptance of those changes. If you object to any of the changes to the privacy policy, then you can close your account.
